MEGNOSH
For a few hours, the labours stop and the gang assemble in their best clobber for the first MEGNOSH.
Continuing a tradition initiated by the 92 Squadron team during the overhaul of 34081, volunteers and staff descend on the NVR’s turntable cafe for a full-blown Christmas feast.

Even NVR Chairman, Keith Parkinson, and General Manager, Sarah Piggot, joined in. Everyone agreed it was a good thing and would be repeated in years to come. The cafe staff produced incredible amounts of delicious food (more than one person was seen to go back for seconds!).

Back to Work
Sadly the festivities don’t last forever and all too soon we’re back on the bracket hunt.
A major milestone was the first piece to be painted. It was very small but it symbolises the progress made this year.
Not quite unnoticed, the under-the-loco team have been removing the springs and they managed to finish the year with all six removed. Initial tidy-up shows 5 could be considered for re-use but one has a broken leaf and will need repair or replacement.
