June 2018.
The frames begin to look very bare.
Much needs to be done before painting can begin - all the grey is old primer and requires wire-brushing off. We aim to start painting as the weather warms next spring.
The bogie, now with wheels and springs removed, has been turned upside-down and is being stripped back to bare metal.
The tender wheels, dumped in the yard and awaiting transport to wheel-turning.
To protect the bores, plywood ends for cylinders and piston valves have been fabricated and fixed.
These will remain in place until the frame strip-down is complete.
